Mitchel S. Berger MD

Mitchel S. Berger earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and a medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He is Professor and Chairman at the Department of Neurological Surgery, UCSF.
 
He is one of the leading expert in awake surgery and renowned specialist in brain mapping techniques. He also is an internationally recognized expert in treating spinal cord tumors and tumor-related epilepsy in adults and children. 
 
He is the Director of the Brain Tumor Surgery Program and Director of the Neurosurgical Research Centers, Brain Tumor Research Center at the UCSF. He is currently the Principal Investigator of UCSF’s SPORE Brain Tumor Program.
 
With hundreds of publications and books, he is in the editorial board of several journals and member of several neurosurgical and neuroncological societies.
