o.Univ.-Prof.Dr.Dr.h.c. Friedrich Anderhuber

Friedrich Anderhuber graduated in 1976 at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz. He has been working as scientific assistent under Prof. Thiel at the Institute of Anatomy and habilitated in 1986. Since 1992 he is full Professor for Anatomy and Head of the Institute. He refined the famous preservation technique known as the “embalming method after Thiel” and established the postgraduate education at the institute. His main research topics are the blood vessels and clincical anatomy.

Prof. Anderhuber is foundation member and member of numerous scientific associations and has been President, Vice President and Secretary General of several of them. Furthermore he has been in the editorial board of renowned scientific journals and is editor and author of different anatomical and clinical textbooks as for instance the standard anatomical textbook “Waldeyer Anatomie des Menschen”.
